Hi, I am a full scholarship PhD student who has been in her country for 11 months now. Because borders did not open for a while, I could not travel and then I gave birth. Afterwards I heard a newborn is banned from entering because no new dependent pass. I contacted Immigration and they requested certain documents but students from 23 countries got banned again so I did not pursue it. Now that students got allowed again, I sent supporting documents. But I still do not know if dependents are allowed or not. I am not asking for spouse or parents, I am asking for my 5 months old daughter because I am a mother who is a student. If the child was much older, I could consider other options. I also cannot withdraw my studies because I am a scholarship student (I did consider the option but found I cannot). And it really does not matter for me if campus is opened or closed because I am a researcher and my scholarship duration or NDA duration with a company will not change. I have a duration and I have to complete my research within that or I have to pay the entire fees. I need to be there to discuss and visit the company and get as much support from my supervisor with site visits. Does not matter for me if there are online classes because I am not doing any classes. Now please tell me how am I supposed to leave a 5 months old. I have no options for anything in the first place. Why do I have to choose between my 5 months old child or pursuing PhD? I did not know such hard choices were there initially or else it was gonna be different. Kindly consider my case and let me know if dependents in these cases will be allowed or not.
