Can someone help me please. My student visa is expired and i have already submitted the renewal documents. I’m currently back in my country (saudi arabia) and trying to apply for an SEV to go back to malaysia. So i opened an account in https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my/
And tried to apply for a student SEV but whenever i enter my passport number it says “no results found from the corresponding passport number”. How can i solve this ? I already received my travel authorisation and i used the reference number given in it at the website as well since the website initially asks for two things , eVAL reference number and passport number.Is the eVAL reference number same as the one in the travel authorisation document? Do you have any idea how i may solve this issue. Thank you for the help.

Hello brother. For clarification are you a new or existing student? You are referring to confusing terms. Sev is applied at the embassy. Student pass is for existing students. Eval is for new students.
Once you clarify your issue, colleagues will be able to assist.
If you need emgs support, post a clear message here indicating your passport number or send it to them by email if you want to keep your details confidential.
Hello brother , So i am an existing student already in my final year. My student pass expired while i went back to my country in 2021 and already submitted my documents to the university for renewal. However since it is expired i must apply for an SEV to enter malaysia. So the first thing i did is apply for the travel authorisation and once i got it i went to the malaysian consulate in my country and told them my situation and they said you must apply for SEV online and gave me the link I posted earlier.
have you applied for SEV online? malaysian embassy or consulates are not issuing SEV online. u need to pay a visit to the embassy to apply
Aha! Mariam got the issue. Yes, of you are applying for an evisa, that would not work. It is currently suspended. You need to apply for the Sev at the embassy.
Note: evisa is online. Sev is through the embassy.

Thats what i heard initially, but i did go to the Malaysian consulate in jeddah and told them about my situation and they requested me to apply online.
oh i am not sure as to why they would say that because SEV are not issued online for the time being. Maybe you can give them a call and explain the problem you’re facing and they might be able to assist you best
Originally, given the pandemic, Malaysia allowed for evisa for all students from any country. That was in the beginning. However, after a while they said we need a sev rather than an evisa. Still, I remember evisa was optional and students could apply for sev. You’d better inform the consulate they you need a sev because the evisa is no longer active.
