Yes, I am a masters student. I’ve been given the VAL and I’ve also received SEV from Nigeria which is valid for 3months and will be changed to a student visa by my institution when I get to Malaysia. The question now is, can I stay for 3 weeks more in my home country or 14days after collecting the SEV.
Thanks.
The VAL is valid for 6 months from the date of issuance whereby, the SEV is valid for 3 months. Students are advised to enter Malaysia within the validity of both the VAL and SEV. Once you have entered the country and submitted your passport, it will take approximately 14 working days for the issuance of your student pass. However, the approval is solely at the discretion of the Immigration Department. Kindly ensure to notify your institution on your arrival.
You’ll need to get an eligiy letter from the ministry of education at Abuja. Then you’ll authenticate your documents there. You’ll also authenticate your certificates at the ministry of foreign affairs with the NDLEA certificate…then you’ll process to the malaysia embassy at Abuja for to process the SEV.
