I have a same experience as you and i manage to continue my study in malaysia
Then what you need to do is do student pass renewal with your new passport number if you already done it tell your university to make changes on passport number for renewal.
For travel authorization first thing is put your old passport number then for NEW PASSPORT NUMBER please write it on the New Travel Document in the travel authorization then they will approve it and you can come to malaysia
After all cleared ( renewal reach 50% and TA aprroved) you need to contact malaysia embassy at your home country for SEV application and make an appointment by sending them email
After SEV clear you can come to malaysia

May i know wht do you mean by “ telling my university to make changes on passport number for renewal?” My student pass already reach 90% which means it’s done but not conplete because it needs endorsement to reach 100%. So im wondering if i could change the passport number if its the case. Besides, do i need a SEV to enter malaysia ? Im existing student with valid student pass just the pass just has not endorsed
try to contact your university supervisor for passport amendment and just try to ask them that you have already renew your passport and for SEV you required to do so because IF YOU STUDENT VISA EXPIRED IN THE PASSPORT you still need to have SEV even you are still studying online therefore try to contact your university to help your passport number changes usually a lot of my friend that they changes the passport first before the renewal started

But i just recently renewed my student visa ( exp january 2022) but it just not endorsed to my new passport. That means i still have valid student pass. Do i still require sev for that?
Popo is right since you visa has not been endorsed yet therefore you need SEV even you already done the renewal
Because it is already expired so expired visa in passport meant you need sev
Do you perhaps know how to apply for sev and what document is required ? Because last time when i applied for sev, i need val. but since im no longer a new student i dont think i can present the val to them if they ask me to
Just present your Travel Autorization, Visa Renewal Screenshot , Old visa and other related document and for more information about document please contact malaysia embassy in your home country and i believe you are from indonesia therefore there is a embassy in jakarta and you can try to contact them by emailing them
and if their mention Eval or MTP just put your travel authorization instead
