SEV is important so do go to the Malaysian embassy to get it. You will need to show your VAL, offer letter, passport and possibly need a 2×2 picture when applying for it. If you already have your VAL, apply for SEV and you can arrive in Malaysia during orientation week or week before class starts. This is so you have time to do your post medical

Apply for Single Entry visa if you’re required for it. Post medical will occur when you arrive. Go to your institution and they will help with the medical exam process

But if your visa was approved after October 15, then you might be getting eVAL instead which would means they won’t courier it to you anymore

The university would’ve emailed you stating that they couriered the original VAL. You need that original VAL upon entering Malaysian immigration so they can give you a special pass. You also need to apply for a single entry visa depending on what country passport you are. Again the university would email you upon your VAL has been approved by EMGS

Currently 2am and I got notification that my VAL was approved 😭👏🏼

I am going this October but mine is still at 35%
