SEV is the abbreviation used for ‘Single Entry Visa’. Basically, this is issued to foreign nationals who require a visa to enter Malaysia. It is normally valid for a single entry and for a period of three (3) months from the date of issue.
For students applying for a Visa Approval Letter (VAL) to study in Malaysia, the students are required to obtain the SEV once the VAL is approved. The SEV can be obtained from the Malaysian Embassy in the student’s country.
The requirement to obtain the SEV depends on the student’s nationality – some nationalities require SEV to enter Malaysia while others are granted Visa On Arrival upon entry in Malaysia.
