Monash is trying to get the their students Eval asap… atleast that’s what they said at the pre orientation meeting last week. I think you’ll get it soon too.

this eVAL shouldn’t be an issue at all, imagine waiting for it for months just an eVAL….I have never seen such a slow process in my whole life

I have called EMGS and the Malaysian Immigration directly but didn’t get any satisfactory answer at all…what should we do??

We have no other option but to wait.. I’m a doctoral student at UPM.. I have informed my supervisor regarding my status… Meanwhile you at least inform graduate studies about your status

2 weeks to eval.
Sev can now be applied online.
No need of going embassy-

i’ll be going to monash as well and i am in a similar situation and haven’t received my eVAL yet…what kind of visa should we apply for? is it tourist visa?

No, there is a student option also and you need to have VAL to apply for student SEV

@Sadman Wait…what’s the difference between eVISA and eVAL? Are they two different things? Or does eVISA means the same as SEV? Sorry I don’t know much about this.

@Dilni SEV is applied after getting ur eVAL. SEV takes around 2 days. Btw what course you’ll be doing at Monash Malaysia?

ahh right..so we shouldn’t apply for it now yeah? but my course starts this month and it’s stuck on 35%…i’ll be doing a bachelors in computer science in data science ..how about you?

I asked them about this once on live chat and they said that “eVAL is used to apply for SEV” so obviously we can’t apply for it now. I’m also an October intake student, I’ll be doing bachelors of science

I’m not sure but I guess that your application is supposed to be 35% green before u get ur eVAL and after getting an eVAL it just directly goes upto 70% green. So we have to just wait for now.

for some reason there is not a reply button for your previous message, I don’t think you are at correct website for SEV as there should be only 3 option Tourist, Expatriate, and Student. Use this website as this the official website from gov instead of using any other 3rd party website.

Yeah I just made an account on the link that you provided but if it is for SEV then why there’s written eVISA application or something? I’m confused if eVISA = SEV or eVISA= eVAL?

Yes, eVisa and eVal are different as VAL is Visa Approval Letter only few nationalities can enter the country with it and all the other nationalities require a Singe Entry Visa (SEV) to enter the Country it is called eVisa cause your not getting a visa sticker on your passport from your local Malaysian embassy rather Online that is why it is…[Read more]

Through Malaysian High Commission in my country…I asked my uni, they said that I need to apply offline

May I know to which number you called and what was the process done?
@Laasya Paladugu I called them on +603 2782 5888 number. I just used to call them and tell them that it’s been a month and I still haven’t received my eVAL yet so some representative there said that they would highlight my application to the Immigration or something like that.
@Alsaaidah thanks…I applied for my eVAL via emgs on 3 Sept 22 and my application was sent to the immigration on 27th of Sept and yes they did ask me about accommodation declaration.
