Thank you for your prompt response and valuable information. This means I do not need any approval by my institution for the social visit pass for my dependants. It solely depends on the Malaysia embassy requirements and my SEV approval..?

Hi Emgs, the visa unit (USM) in my institution said it is not possible to bring my family because it is impossible to change from social visit pass to dependant pass. They advised me to come first, get my student pass and apply for vdr for my dependants.

Dear Emgs,

I want to make further enquires on the link between social visit pass and dependant pass. My institution (USM) said its impossible for me to get vdr which is a requirement for my son’s visa (he is just a year old and 2 weeks) and I will like to bring him along because of his age. Currently my eval has been approved.
My institution is insisting if I don’t get my student pass I cannot get the vdr for him. Please assist me, my son is very young and I am to start registration by December or January.
