I’m not sure, the university only suggest KLG Residence to me. You should try contacting the university directly.

Anyone going or have arrived at UTM Johor? What’s the process of getting a room in the university?

You should contact KLG Residence. You have to transfer a security deposit to their account and send the proof of payment along with your passport data page and your offer letter. Once you get here you pay the rent in person.

Yes, you can go. In fact, one of my friends is currently on vacation to India. He applied for the renewal just before he left for India. You just to need to come back to submit the passport.

But in my case am renewing my student pass because if I just cancel it, I’ll have to wait until for the new student visa to get approved which is gonna take 2 months and I’ll miss to months of the september classes which i don’t want. Actually, you can go to holiday while the renewing process is going on. It doesn’t cause any problem. Pretty normal for students to apply for student pass renewal before leaving for their country.

You mean I can go back while the renewal is in process then come back to malaysia with it when it gets approved?. I’m not sure but, the university informed me I will need to be here two weeks before the visa expiration. They told me also I’ll have no option but to wait until it gets approved.

Since I have submitted the visa renewal application three months before the expiry, what will be the the expiry once my student pass is renewed. Will it continue from the old expiry date or will it be one year after the actual date of issue?

If it says status Complete in the My Account page, click View Application and see the Travel Document Number and Nationality. You have to use the same number and nationality in the Track Application Website. You could have made a mistake in Travel Document Number it Nationality.

Hi EMGS,
If I get an extended 4 year Student Pass and during the course choose a major, will it affect the validity of my Student Pass? So if it says Bachelor of Information Technology on the student pass and I choose Bachelor of Computer Science as my major, is the Student Pass still valid?

Walaikum Assalam. IIUM Student here. Make sure to plan transportation before you arrive. You could use the Grab app here in Malaysia to book a car. If you could arrange a transportation by IIUM, that would be cheaper. Don’t use metered taxi as that will cost you a lot. May Allah give you success.
