Dear EMGS,

I hope this email finds you well.

I am writing to formally appeal for an extension of my student visa, as my current visa is set to expire on May 5, 2025, while my convocation ceremony is scheduled for November 2025.

As an international student who has successfully completed my degree program on time, I am eager to attend my convocation. However, leaving Malaysia and returning later would impose a significant financial burden on me and my family. The cost of multiple flight tickets and other travel expenses is beyond my financial capacity.

I kindly request your support in exploring any possible solutions that would allow me to legally remain in Malaysia until my convocation. Please advise whether a visa extension, special pass, or any alternative arrangement is available under these circumstances. I am also prepared to provide any necessary documentation to support my request.

I sincerely appreciate your time and assistance in this matter and look forward to your guidance.

  Please note that, according to the Immigration Department of Malaysia, all international students must return to their home countries after completing their studies. If your student pass expires before graduation, you may enter with a social visit pass to attend the ceremony. However, please note that granting you entry is solely at the discretion of the Immigration Department officials at the point of entry.
