No you dont need to change the val if you change mode of programme

I would advise you to contact your EMGS and your university . There are a whole procedure you should follow if you want to change your program in the same university (for the same program different code is used for different mode). One thing I learned from my last month in Malaysia you do not want to assume anything here .

Hmm, it is the same program exactly but the mode changed to research mode, and I don’t have much time to apply for another VAL, I will start on 15 February while my VAL released since one week nearly, it was stuck for correction purpose since 27 September.
And I have read that just if I change the program or the university that I need to apply for new VAL
What do you think?
Better to send an email to EMGS and explain everything in details along with your passport number you could also call them .Unfortunately, I cant help you but I have seen ppl getting in so much trouble here for different reasons regrading their visa .
