Dear EMGS team members,

My name is Ahmed Elsayed, I’m A PhD student at UUM, Metric#903671, Passport#A27918217. This is my second year at UUM. I have been advised by visa center members at UUM to apply for a new visa as my old visa has expired since July 12th 2020 and the renewal application has closed on 10th of March 2021. Currently I’m outside Malaysia, I wanted to apply for a new visa renewal but they told me that it is not possible.

Thus, I have applied for a new student visa and all the supporting and explanation letters have been sent to EMGS. However, the current status of my new application is to close it and apply for visa renewal!! I really don’t understand what is happening? What about the new application? I have paid more than 2200 RM for it, I’m I going to lose that amount? Is it possible to apply for renewal?? Do I need to pay for the renewal fee? I’m I going to lose the current process?

I really need an explanation from your side and I want to solve my visa issues as soon as possible as I need to come to Malaysia by July 10th as I already booked a flight.
