Hey. What is your query.
-
Hey brother. Thanks for replying. I wanted to know that have you asked the uni that will there be someone at the airport to help us go through the immigration process? They asked me to contact Madam khairunisa but she is not replying my emails.
-
Yes they replied my mail. Here is what they said.”Student enroll and offer to study at Public Institution ( USM) is not required to send the representative at the Airport to escort them. You just show your offer letter, eVAL and SEV for the purpose of entering Malaysia to study in USM. The Immigration will stamp your passport with the entry stamp…[Read more]
-
In short there wont be any representative for you on the airport. You just need to show your offer letter, eval and sev.
-
Ok that’s good. Secondly I wanted to ask that, as I realized, the USM engineering campus is on the penang mainland, while the airport, the USM clinic, the main campus where we will have to go for registration are on the penang island. Can you confirm that this is the case for you as well? Because they both are pretty far from each other.
-
Yeah first you need to goto USM clinic and then to the registration office which is near main campus. Send me ur email id or whatsapp no, I can forward the mail which i recieved from the USM.
-
Sure. My email is fehzan.kaleem.k(at)gmail.com
-
And WhatsApp is +#########258

No mine went very smooth, thanks to the photo guy who insisted me to get the standard visa photo. Anyways i have seen many people come across this problem. U will need to apply at emgs one stop solution center via verified courier service like vfs global.
-
That’s what even i was thinking of doing, however I still have allot of time, and was looking to apply for the sev on the 20th of this month.
Would that be alright??-
When would u be leaving for malaysia? And when is ur orientation day.
-
I was advised to leave on the 22nd of August and my orientation day is on the 4th and 5th of September.
-
Sorry I was advised to leave on the 24th of August.
-
Then u should apply next week so that if there is any issue you can sort it out within time frame.Try to get all details on how to apply this week and on monday u can apply for sev.
-
Alright, also do I need to book plane tickets before I apply for the sev?
-
For esev it wasnt required but abhijeet just applied and he informed me that he was asked to show air ticket. So i think u should also do the same
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
How long did it take from payment to processing for you guys?
-
For me it took around a month and half due to some issues for additional documents..
-
For esev it took me 3 days.
-
-
Are you guys talking about online SEV? That is the evisa?
-
Yup we’re talking about the online sev (Evisa)

Yes Ahamed, I am from India. Which university did you apply for ?
-
I’ve applied for the foun I’m science course leading to bachelors in civil engineering (honors) degree at UCSI Kuala Lumpur.
What about you?
Where do you stay in India?-
I am going for master of computer science in USM. I am from Mumbai. What about you?
-
Ohh, thats great ,I stay in Bangalore.
Btw, how long did it take for your VAL to be ready for download?-
It took me 3 days to download the val. And another 3 days for esev.
-
Ohh alright, so you’ve gotten the Evisa rather then sendi the passport to the embassy?
And you are all set now?
When’s the intake?-
Yes, fortunately, it went well without any problem. I will be leaving on 20th August and my intake is in september.
-
Oh, we share the same intake…even I was looking forward to leaving on 20th of August.
-
-
-
-
@ahamed_3 oo..nice but i will book hostel of college in next month and my college has told me that i arrive on malaysia on 3 rd september…
-
-
-
-
-
Oh thats quite nice Ahamed. I was looking to leave bit early but there are holidays so i found 20th to be the perfect date.
-
I believe it would be better to have at least one week in hand before the commencement of classes,
My orientation day would be on Sept 4.-
Yeah, not just that. You need to complete your student pass procedure so it’s better to finish it before your studies start.
-
Exactly, great point.
How long would the student pass procedure take ?
What dates you’re orientation day?-
hi ahamed, i am abhijeet from india …are your university provide advisable date to arrive in malaysia and are u apply 4 ur SEV?
-
Hey abhijeet!
My college advised me, that I arrange my travel to Malaysia during the start of of August and come by mid August, I will apply for EVISA by 15th of this month.-
oo gr8, but when your classes start
-
My orientation is on the 4th of September, where as my classes start on 10th, I believe so.
-
-
@ahamed_3, oo gr8 but when will your class start?
-
-
-
-
hi dhaval, but college do not understand that student come malaysia before 20 days from orientation class..i said that i come to malaysia 20 days before from the date of orientation class. but college say that no u will come on advisable date.
-
It takes around 14 days for student pass so they allow you around that many days. @ahamed_3 . What are the dates that has been given to you by ur college @abhijeet1605
-
@dhaval, my college give me advisable date to arrive in malaysia 0n 4th september and my orrientation class date is 10 th september
-
@dhaval,maybe its not a mandatory that you hold student pass to attend the classes because when u arrive in malaysia and u go to college whenever the college provide date to submit passport to internation office and after 14 days from submission you get your passport.
-
Yeah but it does interfere with your studies since you will also go through the registration, ikad and medical. @abhijeet1605 . Also on the orientation week it will be quite a busy time.
-
-
-
So I guess August 15-20 would be just perfect.
-
No it is not. Be careful while booking since that week has 2 to 4 holidays.
-
How would coming between 15-20th be problematic? Please advise.
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
I think they have two holidays in that week. I might be wrong about it. so just check it thoroughly.
-
That’s my question, how would holidays effect my stay over there?
-
You need someone from the university to get you from the airport and if its a holiday then they won’t be coming on that day.
-
Ahh, that’s a great point, thanks for mentioning it!
But, since my adviser at UCSI her self told me that I should leave by mid August, I am not sure what I am supposed to do..-
you can leave in mid-August no problem. Just make sure your landing date doesn’t come on the holiday. That’s all you need to take care of.
-
Ohh, okay then!
Thanks for the information mate!
Can I contact you, should I need your help in the future?-
Yeah sure, you can contact me.
-
-
-
-
@dhaval but college have not understand that student are adviced to arrive in malaysia before 15-20 days from orientation class
-
I think it would be better off if you would, book a flight with accordan to what univerisity has to say..
Since they would obviously have more knowledge…
-
-
-
@ahamed_3 oooo…are u book hostel of college or you rent a pg nd flat?
-
I am thinking of staying outide campus, like a PG you could say.

Congrats, and Alhamdulillah
-
congrates
but 2 months really? too long 🙁
The notifucation says 14 working days only. 🙁-
It Should take 14 days if all you’re documents are right and there are no issues,
I had a few issues with my application, and I required certain documents which caused the delay.-
My application took 1 month and 22 days to be exact.

There should be an email from your institution with relevant information containing the emgs link.
If you have 70%, your eVAL is now ready to be downloaded.
You can check this link https://educationmalaysia.gov.my/emgs/application/searchForm/
Just enter your passport number and your nationality.
Best of luck

Thank you so much Spencer for the information.

Hi EMGS,
My bad! It shows here that it was approved on the 30th of June 2018 at 08:39pm, that was why I concluded that it’s been over 4 days without me putting into consideration the time difference between Nigeria and Malaysia.
I am very sorry for my hastiness.
Thank you.
-
Thank you very much. I’ve been able to download the eVAL. You have been very helpful.
-
-
-
Wa’alaykum salam warahmotullahi Bro.
-
I had a question to ask,if you don’t mind?
-
Looking at your thread and profile, you seem very knowledgeable on EMGS and the Malaysian immigration
-
Well, I actually did not observe that. However, that could be as a result of the fact that I followed in details the guidelines provided for me by my institution – IIUM when making my application.
Also, the EMGS Officers deserve a big kudos and credit in that regard because they make the application process simple and explicit for everyone by…[Read more]
-
Oh, is that so?
None the less, the EMGS team is very hard working, no denying that. -
Yes, undeniable. So, I derive most of my knowledge from the answers to the queries from applicants provided by the EMGS Officers and I use that to assist other applicants with information needs that are within my knowledge bank. Especially when I am less busy during weekends, public holidays, or when the EMGS Officers are unavoidable unable to…[Read more]

Hi Bro… You may have to chill a little till you resume. You may meet one or two on the enrollment day. When is your enrollment?
-
The enrolment is on the 25th of August. I thought it would be possible to meet some on here since most people going to study at Malaysia must go through EMGS before they are able to start studying there.
-
Yea… You right though…
25 August should be Saturday I guess? And it falls during the Semester Vacation here in IIUM… Bonne chance Bro.
-
Oh! It’s alright then. Thank you Kazeem, you have been really helpful.
-
My pleasure. How is the SEV application process? Started it already? Or about to?
-
I hope to start soon. My application for the eVAL was submitted to the Immigration Department of Malaysia yesterday so soon as I get it, I’ll go apply for the SEV. How long did it take you to get your eVAL after it was submitted to the Immigration Department and how long did your SEV take?
-
within 7 working days. SEV – Maximum of 10 working days or more. However, my SEV was within 5 working days as long as you provided the Embassy through VFS, Abuja with the required documents. Ma salam…
-
Alright, thank you brother. BaarakAllaah feek
-
Ameen. You are welcome Bro. I hope you have the checklist of the required documents for the SEV application already.
-
Yes, I do have the checklist. You have really been helpful, thank you.
-
Alright. When going to make the SEV application. Do ensure that the Bank Reference Letter of your sponsor is stamped by the bank. And the Bank statement too.
Also, after authenticating your credentials/highest degree and getting the authentication letter at the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja. Do endeavour to proceed to the Federal Ministry…[Read more]
-
Really, I have to authenticate my credentials? I was told by someone that that is not exactly necessary for a postgraduate student. Perhaps everything has changed. I’ll just do all that. Thank you so much. What other things do you think I would need?
-
You have to Bro. I am currently here for my Master in Library and Information Science and I authenticated my credentials before submitting the application for the SEV. If you don’t, the application is incomplete and wouldn’t be accepted at VFS. Well, I can as well hint you that the letter of sponsor from your sponsor can be written on a plain A4 paper.
-
Oh! I’ll have them authenticated then. Thank you very much brother. I think I’ll just go to Abuja next week then.
