When i travel to malaysia by a visa of study (student pass) , must i buy a ticket that is going and coming back or i can buy a ticket that is just going ?

Hello EMEGS, what if my country doesn’t have malaysian embassy? After i downloud the VAL can i go directly to malaysia?
