Hey Future Students!
If you’re planning to study in Malaysia, here are some helpful tips I have learned from my experience with my recent application.
Check the App Daily: Always check your application status daily. Your application only starts when EMGS receives your documents and payment. Make sure your school sends proof of payment to EMGS so there are no delays.
Respond Quickly to Requests for Corrections: If EMGS asks for document corrections, respond within a few hours with the new documents. Ask your school to send them quickly. This helps avoid delays.
Be Patient: The EMGS officers need time to process your application. They usually take 7 to 10 working days to complete each step, so stay patient while they work.
Don’t Book Your Flight Too Soon: Wait until you get your Visa Approval Letter (VAL) before booking your flight. If your visa approval is delayed, you might need to consider changing to a later intake.
EMGS is Helpful: EMGS responds to emails within 24 hours and is really helpful. But remember, there are many people involved in the process, including you, your school, EMGS, and Immigration. Everyone needs to do their part. If you’re unsure about anything, feel free to ask them.
What the Percentages Mean: Here’s a quick breakdown of where your application might stand from my experience:
5%: Application created 15%: Payment and documents received 32%: Preparing to send documents to Immigration 35%: Application with Immigration 70%: VAL approved and ready for download 80%: Medical screening completed, waiting for student pass sticker 100%: Complete!
I wish you all the best of luck with your applications. May your study journey in Malaysia be successful and enjoyable!
Best, Hitesh
