I am a Chinese student holding passport number EF9442639, and I am writing to lodge a complaint regarding the unreasonable delays and additional fees encountered during my passport renewal process.
I submitted my passport to the school on May 24, 2024, and it was received by EMES’s One Stop Center on May 27, 2024. According to the initial response, I was informed that the process would take 14 working days. However, after 14 working days, I was told that it would take an additional 14 working days for the immigration office to process it. Although I can provided my flight itinerary, I was still required to go through the school’s coordination.
What puzzles me is that many of my fellow Chinese students have experienced similar issues and were forced to pay extra fees for expedited processing in order to obtain their renewals in a timely manner.
This situation leads me to suspect that there might be some collusion between the school and related agencies to profit from these extra fees. This has caused significant financial and emotional stress for us international students. I urge the school to investigate this matter and provide a reasonable explanation and resolution.
To safeguard our legitimate rights, I request that your institution expedite my passport renewal process and keep me informed of the progress. If the issue is not resolved satisfactorily, I will escalate the matter to higher education authorities and relevant media to protect the rights of Chinese students.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
