U should wait for VAL then u can fly to Malaysia 🙁
If 60%, you can now get the VAL
It takes like a week for EMGS to receive the additional documents and update your status

Just clearly understand why emgs is asking you. If u submit all documents in correct format they will issue u certificate within a week. Just make sure once again what Emgs is asking u
I’m sure documents are correct and my university also assured several times about it to them by email with a copy to me also
I’m calling EMGS every day they said we received we just need time to review them, so why the hell they keep sending the notification I don’t know

Nowdays Emgs requirement is high they ask student to submit a clear copy of passport but max size is capped 2mb only, even for passport Datapage size 2200x 3200 already 1.6mb
Yes this was one of my issues
I had to upload the file on I Love PDF website to minimize the size and it worked

In my case I sent them different images on each notification, thinking that it did not get accepted. But after exactly seven days, they accepted the very first picture. (as long as it was eligible)
After that, (i.e 3-5 working days) they will finish checking documents, and ask you for declaration of accommodation. So find accommodation before hand.

Btw, after checking docs, they will send Emgs apprv letter.
For last question, I don’t think so. I read about someone in this forum who went with visa and tried to issue a student pass there, but he failed.

As for accommodation, is it required for all (undergraduate and postgraduate)?
As I contacted the university before and they said there is no place in campus dorms
On campus dorms aren’t available? I didn’t know about that as UM still didn’t reply to me. So we have to look for accommodation nearby?
For undergraduates they give one semester only
For postgraduates they don’t have availability

Hello, got exact same issue here. It took about 2 weeks from 15 yellow to 15 green in my case since the first notif (I got double notif mails on same issue too). I’m on 15 green now. Btw I also from UM for this October intake
