STATEMENT FROM THE MINISTY OF HEALTH MALAYSIA REGARDING TO THE LATEST STANDARD
OPERATING PROCEDURE (SOP) FOR TRAVELLERS ENTERING MALAYSIA
1. PURPOSE:
1.1 The purpose of this bulletin is to provide information on a recent statement issued by
Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah (Director General of Health, Ministry of
Health Malaysia) regarding to the updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for
travellers (including international students) entering Malaysia beginning 1st August
2022.
1.2 The statement dated 4
th August 2022 detailed the following information which is
applicable to all types of travellers (including international students):
a) The Pre-Departure and On-Arrival Covid-19 detection test are no longer required.
b) There are no quarantine orders related to COVID-19 upon arrival in Malaysia.
c) Travellers may enter Malaysia regardless of their vaccination status. However,
vaccination requirements are still subjected to the airline company’s
requirements.
d)
Travellers are not required to complete the “Traveller’s Card” information in the
MySejahtera Application.
e) Symptom monitoring activities for travellers at all international entry points in
Malaysia will be continued and enhanced.
f)
If a traveller is detected to have a fever via the thermal scanner or is found to be
unwell through self-referral upon arrival in Malaysia, they will be referred to the
health officials for an examination. These individuals will then be referred to a
nearby health facility for further examination and treatment if they are suspected
of having an infectious disease such as Covid-19, Monkeypox, MERS-CoV or any
other related diseases.
