Hello EMGS Can I take my passport back even without visa renewal from immigradtion. Currently it is at 80% and submitted to imigradion. I have an emergency and need to depart from malaysia on friday morning.

You would have to request your institution to submit an explanation letter providing a reason to request for your passport. The approval is solely at the discretion of the Immigration Department.
