Not to dishearten you, but I actually know people who’ve been living in Malaysia for almost 20 years and still haven’t been given PR. According to the policies, yes, it does say 5 years. However, that’s not true. You might get it or you might not. Currently they’re processing the PR applications they received 3 years back. That’s how it is unfortunately. If you’re married to a Malaysian national, then the chances of you getting a PR is slightly higher.
