Hi EMGS Officer, & Members,

I’m a PhD (research mode) student. My VAL expired and my Institute requested the cancellation of the expired VAL. It’s almost a month and still it hasn’t been cancelled. The EMGS says it’s been sent to the Immigration Department , and it’s on their “sole discretion” that how long does it take.

Can you please tell me how to make this cancellation process quick so that I can apply the new VAL. I don’t have much time as I want to travel in June.

  I will appreciate if you can give me any link or contact details of the immigration department, where I can follow up with regards to the cancellation and request them for swift process.
  EMGS usually issues visa within 2 weeks, which shows a very advanced and efficient online system, then why does the cancellation take that long?
