You can start your application online and check, you don’t have to submit it immediately, you can save your progress and come back to it later, I completed my own after a week

It should update immediately.

Your flight ticket will also need verification, so do book that
accordingly.

If your documents are fine, there should be no issue with verification and validation, and a week is more than enough time (including uploaded flight ticket)
