German-Japanese conductor Jun Märkl brings a lively programme of vernal works, beginning with Caplet’s colourful orchestration of Debussy’s ‘Children’s Corner’ and then Beethoven’s youthful ‘Piano Concerto No. 1’. The MPO will also perform Strauss’ masterpiece ‘Don Juan’, which paints the vivid story of a philanderer. This will be followed by Strauss’ mischievous hero and prankster ‘Till Eulenspiegel’.
